not sure if this has been filed before buuuuuuuut ...
repoman should check to make sure that certain variables/functions are not
defined by portage ... that is, the variables that portage generates and should
never be modified ...

variables (not complete list ...):
A, P, PV, PVR, D, T, etc...
functions (not complete list ...):
dyn_fetch, dyn_compile, dyn_install, etc...
