I've had a look at this, and I'm a bit stumped.  The ./configure script goes
into an infinite loop, and doesn't complete.  Unfortunately, I can't rebuild
the configure script using autoconf because it seems that the configure script
uses a very out of date version of autoconf :(

I'll contact the upstream authors for advice,

Okay, I've committed an ebuild for cherokee-0.4.5.  It should appear on your
local RSYNC mirror within the hour.

Can you test it, and let me know whether it works for you or not?

there is a dep an bonobo-activation which id deprecated in gnome2.4 as it
is part of libbonobo2.4. it builds with dep libbonobo-2.4 and no bonobo-activation-2.2
installed
