Description peter hiltz 2003-08-17 12:20:51 UTC
Honeyd requires libevent. libevent-0.6 fails during the makefile creation stage. Relevant error
message:

cd . && aclocal
cd . && automake --foreign Makefile
cd . && autoconf
configure.in:56: error: do not use LIBOBJS directly, use AC_LIBOBJ (see section `AC_LIBOBJ
vs LIBOBJS'
      If this token and others are legitimate, please use m4_pattern_allow.
      See the Autoconf documentation.
make: *** [configure] Error 1

!!! ERROR: dev-libs/libevent-0.6 failed.

Steps to recreate:
1. emerge -uD world
2. fails on config routine for libevent

Comment 2 Andrew Ross (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-01 23:06:26 UTC
same problem. If this is happening for everyone perhaps libevent-0.6 should be hard masked?

Comment 3 Tom Wesley 2004-04-02 01:38:52 UTC
I can emerge libevent-0.7c fine here, what versions of auto{make,conf} are you using?
Comment 4 Niels Laukens 2004-04-02 05:57:07 UTC
Just to notice: the bug is (was) about the 0.6 version. You are talking about the 0.7 version.
As of THIS moment, the 0.6 is still the "stable release"
Comment 5 Brian Jackson (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2004-04-02 21:21:49 UTC
0.7c is now marked x86, not sure what to do about 0.6, it'll stay there for now, can't hurt anything.
