Description:   Opened: 2009-04-19 08:58 0000
Just upgraded to coreutils-7.1 and suddenly portage stops working because it
can't touch ${PORTAGE_BUILDDIR}/.unpacked}: /bin/touch replies with error "Bad
Address". I'm using Gentoo on a VPS hosting and can't control the kernel. As I
understand it my hoster is using openvz.

This issue is especially serious because it does not allow one to easily
downgrade to previous version to coreutils: portage becomes totally broken.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Update: if anybody else gets blown by this bug, download 2008.0 stage3 and take
/bin/touch from there. Then you can downgrade with emerge -av "<coreutils-7".
