Description:   Opened: 2009-03-26 16:18 0000 
The patch referenced by the bug URL fixes a notable performance regression
which was introduced in 2.6.26. Among other things, this has adversely affected
SQLite:

Please fold the patch into genpatches-base for those trunks <=2.6.28 that are
still being supported.

I should add that lwn.net have been covering this topic:

For the benefit of those that do not have a subscription, it specifically
alludes to this regression and confirms that it affects 2.6.26 - 2.6.28.
Furthermore, Jens Axboe comments on the article to point out that commit
18ce3751ccd488c78d3827e9f6bf54e6322676fb was the cause and that the
aforementioned patch resolves the issue.
