Created attachment 202155 [details] www-apps/redmine-0.8.4-r1.ebuild New ebuild redmine-0.8.4-r1.ebuild because dev-ruby/rails-2.1.2-r1 masked by package.mask
I just tried to use this ebuild and got told that one of its dependencies is masked and is going to be removed from portage in 60 days: !!! All ebuilds that could satisfy ">=dev-ruby/actionwebservice-1.1.3" have been masked. !!! One of the following masked packages is required to complete your request: - dev-ruby/actionwebservice-1.2.6 (masked by: package.mask) /usr/portage/profiles/package.mask: # Hans de Graaff <graaff@gentoo.org> (22 Aug 2009) # These Rails versions are no longer supported upstream # and will be removed in 60 days. # Alex Legler <a3li@gentoo.org> (27 Sep 2009) # Added Rails 1. Due for removal together with the rest here.
(In reply to comment #8) This dep actually no more required for Redmine from SVN. 0.8.x You can use 9999 until 0.9 will be released.
Created attachment 206458 [details] www-apps/redmine-9999.ebuild cleanup removed /etc/redmine/ because it doesn't work with dev-ruby/rack.

Not only did redmine-9999 install, but redmine-9999 runs like a champ under sparc using postgresql back-end - and the only (very undramatic) modifications were to include the ~sparc keyword in the following ebuilds in my local overlay, and make sure the (properly formatted) init.d and conf.d files (referenced in comment #13) were in the files directory. dev-ruby/coderay dev-ruby/pg dev-ruby/ruby-net-ldap dev-ruby/ruby-openid www-apps/redmine Gotta love Gentoo, Ruby, and the open source community!

(In reply to comment #28) > Created an attachment (id=218043) [details] > www-apps/redmine-0.9.1.ebuild > Can you provide *.confd & *.initd files for this ebuild (though I don't need them - I am runnig redmine on thin server)
On http://github.com/webkiller71/webkiller71/blob/master/www-apps/redmine/redmine-0.9.1.ebuild I have my redmine 0.9.1 ebuild, but with tests. I've also packaged object_daddy on the same overlay since it's required for the tests. Since dev-ruby/shoulda isn't keyworded (~)x86, I've dropped ~x86 from the keywords. There's a minor issue. I use sqlite3 for the tests, so it should have dev-ruby/activerecord:2.3[sqlite3] as test? dependency, but I'm not sure if it's valid to depend on the same package more than once. Another issue is that the tests fail without dev-ruby/activerecord:2.3[mysql], even though I'm using a sqlite3 database. Anyone knows more about this?
For "Object is not missing constant Project" error, take a look at http://www.redmine.org/boards/2/topics/9825
