We've maintained a http/ftp/rsync mirror of gentoo source and gentoo-portage on ftp.heanet.ie for quite some time but I notice the rsync service isn't listed under Ireland on: http://www.gentoo.org/main/en/mirrors2.xml Could the description there also be changed from "Ireland National Education and Research Network" to "HEAnet - Ireland's National Education and Research Network" ? Additionally, we don't appear to be listed as an official rsync server on: http://mirrorstats.gentoo.org/rsync/ Would it be possible to add an rsync.ie.gentoo.org pointing at ftp.heanet.ie (v4: 193.1.193.64 v6: 2001:770:18:aa40::c101:c140) ? A CNAME to ftp.heanet.ie should suffice. We sync twice an hour from rsync.de.gentoo.org. Apologies for the delay. I've changed the name as requested, you should be able to see the change in an hour or so. Additionally, I've added the rsync and gentoo-portage mirrors to our test system and we'll add them in 2 weeks if all is good.

Hi again, Just one issue I noticed, you seem to have put 193.1.219.100 (coupland.heanet.ie) in the DNS for rsync.ie.gentoo.org. $ host rsync.ie.gentoo.org rsync.ie.gentoo.org has address 193.1.219.100 rsync.ie.gentoo.org has address 193.1.193.64 This is not part of our mirror system and is likely to cause issues for anyone attempting to connect to rsync.ie.gentoo.org.
