Description:   Opened: 2008-06-06 11:25 0000
If only Python 2.5 is installed blender build will fail with a Python.h not
found message. Installing Python 2.4 (as well) solves the issue. Should work
with with 2.5 only.

Reproducible: Always

------- Comment #3 From Jeroen Roovers 2008-06-07 17:12:15 0000 -------
Thank you.

I'm sure I've seen this before, but it sure isn't bug #152700.

------- Comment #4 From Santiago M. Mola 2008-06-20 11:23:54 0000 -------
@Luca: what about this? is it a Python 2.5 blocker?

------- Comment #5 From Luca Barbato 2008-06-20 19:08:17 0000 -------
should be a scons issue, I'll check it by monday (now I'm around Italy and I'm
not always on link)

------- Comment #6 From Luca Barbato 2008-06-22 11:38:02 0000 -------
the latest blender builds correctly on python-2.5 only system

------- Comment #7 From Santiago M. Mola 2008-06-22 11:54:33 0000 -------
Looking at the dependencies, it doesn't look like we can get a new blender
stable any time soon, and current stable will be broken when python 2.5 is
stabilized.

Probably you can add a dep on =dev-lang/python-2.4* to
media-gfx/blender-2.43-r2 and be done with it.

------- Comment #8 From Luca Barbato 2008-06-22 12:38:05 0000 -------
.46 works with the old ffmpeg so it can go stable
.46-r1 works with the newest ffmpeg and it will go ~ once we have everything
sorted out (real soon TM) so hopefully blender won't be in the way

------- Comment #9 From Markus Meier 2008-06-25 21:09:57 0000 -------
+ 25 Jun 2008; Markus Meier <maekke@gentoo.org> blender-2.43-r2.ebuild:
+ does not build with python-2.5, so DEPEND on 2.4, bug #225109

fixed for the moment. I'd still like to see a newer blender version to get
stable some time... =)
