Description:   Opened: 2008-06-03 11:10 0000
I ran 'tiff2pdf -j' on a TIFF file and got a mdistorted colour mapping.
'tiff2pdf -z' gets it right.

I viewed the outputs in Adobe PDF viewer.

I also tried 'tiff2pdf -ji', but that produced even weirder results.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. tiff2pdf -j DCS_0131.tiff > new.pdf
2. tiff2pdf -z DSC_0131.tiff > new2.pdf
3.

Actual Results:
new.pdf has distorted colours. new2.pdf is OK

I attach the input: DCS_0131.tiff
and the outputs new.pdf and new2.pdf

------- Comment #1 From Raphael Mankin 2008-06-03 11:31:33 0000 -------
DSC_0131.tiff is the input file
new.pdf is the output of tiff2pdf -j
new2.pdf is the output of tiff2pdf -z
new4.pdf is the output of tiff2pdf -q 100 -j

------- Comment #2 From Jeroen Roovers 2008-06-03 15:05:16 0000 -------
That [URL] gives a 404. I had hoped there were some nice graphic examples
there. Your systems seems quite outdated, by the way. Which version of
media-libs/jpeg do you have (-j is for JPEG compression, for which
media-libs/tiff uses media-libs/jpeg).

------- Comment #3 From Raphael Mankin 2008-06-03 16:13:52 0000 -------
Apologies, the URL should be http://pics.mankin.org.uk/bugs/ (different server)
and it does contain the images. I was specifically using jpeg compression. I
started down this road because ImageMagic's 'convert' is broken (known bug)
and I have not found a work-around for it.

I have jpeg-6b-r8.

------- Comment #4 From Steve Arnold 2008-06-04 07:13:21 0000 -------
Is this the same issue as reported in bug #145055 ? Have you tried the
work-around posted there?

------- Comment #5 From Raphael Mankin 2008-06-08 18:33:24 0000 -------
In response to your query, Yes it does appear to be a duplciate of #145055. The
PDF displays correctly in both Evince and in Gnome PDF viewer.
