See http://tinderbox.dev.gentoo.org/misc/rindex/dev-util/pkgconfig, bugs are getting fixed the wrong way by maintainers, --depclean stopped recently cleaning pkgconfig. I'm certain most of these do not need pkgconfig at runtime.

Please revoke bugzilla access for 'evil compile person' or otherwise stop apparently spurious and incorrect bug reports being filed to me.
Just in case it's not clear, we're talking about packages puting pkgconfig dep into RDEPEND in addition to DEPEND, which is incorrect for most cases.
would be nice if the list could be split by herds :)

gnome2-user-docs had nothing whatsoever to do with pkgconfig deps being fixed the wrong way. Fixed. Ancient music-applet ebuild nuked too that had RDEPEND and DEPEND keywords swapped. Fixed the obviously ours, please don't CC us again before identifying what is under gnome herd, thank you.

Fixing this in lapack-atlas-3.8.0 introduced a typo which leads to missing dependencies (e.g. eselect-lapack). There are now two DEPEND lines with the second overwriting the first. Not sure what was intended, so can't propose a patch. Sorry.
