Description:   Opened: 2003-05-22 22:49 0000
Aldo is a Morse Code simulator written for Linux. After checking the portage
tree structure, it does not appear to group packet-radio/ham-radio applications
together, so in addition to this ebuild, I propose creating a new portage
category: app-hamradio. Hence, this package (aldo) should be designated
app-hamradio/aldo. (After finishing the other ebuilds, I will have MANY more to
submit with ham radio applications for that same category.)

Reproducible: Always

This is also in Bug #19811, which I am pushing for inclusion. In your future
ebuilds please use the "mirror://sourceforge" setup for your SRC_URI's.

Oh, I don't know anything about that. I'll check out the ebuild when it
becomes available in portage then. Thanks for fixing it!

Is there a "Know-all-end-all" HOW-TO for writing ebuilds? I tend to only be
able to find snippets of information spread out all over the Gentoo site about
properly writing them. Thanks!

Gentoo Ebuild HOWTO:
http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-howto.xml

It might not explain extra cool features like the mirror thing. Stuff like that I just picked up by noticing that certain projects were actually bouncing to all the mirrors so I checked out the ebuild.

The fact is, our documentation is woefully incomplete.

Once 1.4 is out the door I'll have more free time to work on improving our documentation.

Thanks for the doc update. If you guys need any help, I'd be glad to chip in
where I can.
