Aldo is a Morse Code simulator written for Linux. After checking the portage tree structure, it does not appear to group packet-radio/ham-radio applications together, so in addition to this ebuild, I propose creating a new portage category: app-hamradio. Hence, this package (aldo) should be designated app-hamradio/aldo. (After finishing the other ebuilds, I will have MANY more to submit with ham radio applications for that same category.) This is also in Bug #19811, which I am pushing for inclusion. In your future ebuilds please use the "mirror://sourceforge" setup for your SRC_URI's.
Oh, I don't know anything about that. I'll check out the ebuild when it becomes available in portage then. Thanks for fixing it! Is there a "Know-all-end-all" HOW-TO for writing ebuilds? I tend to only be able to find snippets of information spread out all over the Gentoo site about properly writing them. Thanks!
Gentoo Ebuild HOWTO: http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-howto.xml It might not explain extra cool features like the mirror thing. Stuff like that I just picked up by noticing that certain projects were actually bouncing to all the mirrors so I checked out the ebuild.
The fact is, our documentation is woefully incomplete. Once 1.4 is out the door I'll have more free time to work on improving our documentation. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 19811 ***
Thanks for the doc update. If you guys need any help, I'd be glad to chip in where I can.
