Description Alex Barker 2008-03-14 06:06:27 UTC
I don't run KDM XDM OR GDM and I log directly into the command-line and then startx manually as need be. This as worked for years and i prefer it this way because i dont always need X.

With that said I just updated to the 169.09-r1 drivers as they are now green and "stable". X starts fine and everything appears to work properly until i try and log out back to the command line. Instead of X just dropping me off at the command prompt it manages to disconnect my monitor from my system. The screen goes black and then my monitor claims that the connection to my video card is non-existent.

At this point im dead in the water. the keyboard still works and the system is still alive but nothing i do seems to bring my display back to my screen. I have tried power cycling the monitor and reloading the nvidia driver but no luck. I have to ssh into the box and reboot it.

It should also be noted that I am not running a frame buffered console. Also if i do the ctrl+alt+backspace the issue still occurs. This worked fine until i upgraded.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

Just a small update, this only happens with SLI enabled.
