Adobe provides a .tar.gz file for flash. If possible, please remove the
dependency on app-arch/rpm2targz.

Reproducible: Always

------- Comment #1 From Jakub Moc (RETIRED) 2008-02-18 19:52:13 0000 -------
Poke us once they've released a new version, we are not changing stable
ebuilds.

------- Comment #2 From Boian Berberov 2008-04-09 18:15:16 0000 -------
I am reopening since a new version is now in portage and it is marked testing
currently.

------- Comment #3 From Jim Ramsay 2008-04-09 20:43:40 0000 -------
Sadly I don't think this can be done.

Problem 1: The .tar.gz they release does not include a version number. Only
the RPM actually includes the version number as part of the filename. For
example, with this latest release the downloadable filenames are:

http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/install_flash_player_9_linux.tar.gz
 - or -
http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/get/flashplayer/current/flash-plugin-9.0.124.0-release.i386.rpm

And the name of the .tar.gz file hasn't changed for any of the previous
releases that I can recall.

Problem 2) Their license prohibits us from hosting a properly-named .tar.gz on
our own mirrors.

I would personally love to remove this dependency, but as long as Adobe
continues to keep using an unversioned filename for the .tar.gz version and a
non-mirroring clause in their license, there's nothing I can do about it.
