"This is a plugin for the Psi to use the Off-the-Record Messaging protocol. Because the plugin interface of Psi is currently unfinished, it's necessary to patch the development version of Psi 0.11." http://www.tfh-berlin.de/~s717689/ Can this patch be included in the psi-gentoo package?
I believe that if this was added it should be hardmasked due to the fact it says on the website: "Because the plugin interface of Psi is currently unfinished, it's necessary to patch the development version of Psi 0.11. The patch extends the plugin interface of Psi to the necessary features." Until that 'development' version is released this should also remain hard-masked. I'm for adding this even though I'm a pidgin user, because I'd like to be able to communicate with my PSI friends using OTR. As we know OTR is the closest thing to a universal encryption method available and therefore I believe it should be supported.
Created an attachment (id=129839) [details] net-im/psi/psi-0.11_pre20070901.ebuild Experimental ebuild with support for Off-the-record encryption. Because no new USE flag "otr" is introduced, the support for it is hidden behind the crypt USE flag. Stuff you will need for OTR support: - psi-otr-plugin.patch - x11-plugins/psi-otr-0.2.ebuild - =net-libs/libotr-3.0.0 (is in portage; 3.1.0 did not work for me) and for the crypt USE flag generally: - >=app-crypt/qca-gnupg-0.1_p20070706 - >=app-crypt/qca-2.0.0_beta7 My first published ebuilds, so beware of beginner's mistakes ...

Created an attachment (id=129841) [details] psi-otr-0.2.ebuild psi-otr-0.2.ebuild OTR-Plugin for patched version of psi-0.11 (http://www.tfh-berlin.de/~s717689/).
Added to my dev overlay so you can try it easily ;)
Will wait for KDE4 to hit the tree, then we can add it
Any progress on this? A new version has be released and kde4 is in the tree, so why wait? I am going to attach an ebuild for the new version later (if I get it working)
