This is the problem:  http://archives.gentoo.org/gentoo-dev/msg_143254.xml

The solution is to stabilize a newer busybox.

This was discussed in a few IRC channels and the final comment was:
<wolf31o2|mobile> RiverRat: file a stabilization bug and assign it to the
maintainers... if they think it's a bad idea, they'll LATER it... otherwise,
they'll CC arches themselves
