This problem can also be fixed by a version bump to sooperlooper-1.0.8c
That version builds without problems on the same system doing
./configure
make
make install

i've added sooperlooper-1.0.8c to the tree and fixed the wxGTK handling while i
was at it.  please reopen if it doesn't work for you.
