There's a new version on the kid3 site, which includes the stuff from bug
138907 and bug 150808:

22 Nov 2006  0.8.1  Fixed bug: A new Custom genre was added on termination.
21 Nov 2006  0.8  Import from freedb2.org, Discogs and MusicBrainz release
database. Support for ID3v2.4 and MPC using TagLib. Support build with Qt4 and
tunepimp 0.5.x.

I just copied the 0.7 ebuild and it seems to work fine.
