after emerging libusb-0.1.12, all of my non-usb.storage devices, i.e. all of my
userspace usb devices stopped working.

They were recognized correctly by hotplug, permissions set right, but no
application could access them.

In my particular case, the devices where usbcam and a smartcard reader (openct)

downgrading to libusb-0.1.11 resolved the problem.
