Description Martin Ivanov 2006-09-14 10:58:12 UTC
It happens at least once a day while the yakuake console is hiding or showing. Reproduced on more than one machine on x86 and AMD64 with nvidia-drivers. No error report - dies instantly. Composite works completely stable otherwise. The problem only appears while drawing the console sliding up or down.

Moving to X11, but I suppose the nvidia-driver thing will mean this bug will never be fixed.

...or it might be already.

Can you try using the 9625 or 9626 masked BETA drivers instead?

I'm not using nvidia driver, but I have composite enabled and I'm using Beryl on an old ATI 7200 with opensource drivers and have a very similar problem. If Yakuake is doing anything processor intensive, it crashes and burns if I check up on it too often. If animations are becoming shaky, opening and closing Yakuake may or may not cause a crash. It seems to be very random, but always happens when the system is under too much load. This hasn't happened when I wasn't using Yakuake.
