Description:   Opened: 2006-09-12 23:16 0000
The latest commit of the openoffice ebuild added a dependency on
>=dev-libs/icu-3.4 which is not keyworded on amd64.

Yep that's right, thanks for filing the bug (didn't get around to do it myself
yesterday). The same is true for ppc, so also adding this herd.

------- Comment #2 From Andreas Proschofsky 2006-09-13 00:00:24 0000 -------
Just recognized that I wasn't very clear about it: The best thing - in my
opinion - would be to keyword icu on amd64 and ppc, at least for the first one
there is already an open bug about it, namely bug #111545

------- Comment #3 From Michael Weyershäuser 2006-09-13 01:33:58 0000 -------
Yes, that would be the ideal solution. Until this is done you broke the build
for amd64 (well, it's p.masked, but it still isn't necessary) and you actually
broke the stable tree for sparc on openoffice-2.0.3. I suggest either reverting
your change until icu is keyworded properly on all arches or doing some ebuild
magic to let amd64 and sparc use OOo's internal icu.

Isn't repoman supposed to prevent such things from happening?

How did I break sparc? All these changes are NOT in openoffice-2.0.3, so I
really don't know what you are talking about. Especially as sparc has icu-3.4
already keyworded (do you mess this up with ppc?)

why? the ebuild is still in package.mask, if you use it, be prepared for
breakage. Until it gets unmasked this should be resolved. I'm only going to put
a workaround in there if the respective arch-herds tell me that keywording
icu-3.4 is not possible for them (for whatever reason). Putting in a workaround
before unmasking just increases the chances that it will never be properly
solved.

Uhm, I should probably get some sleep now... Yes, I meant ppc when I said sparc
and I could have sworn that I saw the dependency on icu in the 2.0.3 ebuild. On
closer examination I must have either hallucinated or fallen asleep and been
dreaming to see that...

My apologies for the unreasoned snap at you. I'm off to bed now ;)

Just giving the bug a proper summary

This is a duplicate of bug #111545

That's actually what I said in Comment 2 ;)

Anyway as ppc is now fixed I'm really going to mark it as a dupe, hope this
isn't forgotten, or otherwise openoffice-2.0.4 won't work on AMD64...
