I recently found this nice application over at KDE-Apps.org (http://www.kde-apps.org/content/show.php?content=41050). It's packed with features and I think it would be a nice alternative/complement to KBibTex. Please find attached an ebuild for kbib-0.5.2.3.

Taigo's 0.6.2 ebuild works on AMD64 as well. You can add the "~amd64" keyword.
