Description:   Opened: 2006-09-01 15:15 0000 
add syntax use flag to all ebuilds that have a related vim syntax ebuild. 

example app-admin/conky has a related syntax highlighting app-vim/conky-syntax

this use flag would create the syntax files as dependancies. if needed it would
add vim to dependancies as well (I don't think it's needed)

p.s. will someone put this as the correct component

Go do the legwork and identify the ebuilds first.

sigh... am going to email dev list and request global flag... or local flag for
all ebuilds because I'm not filing individual bugs is stupid waste of time and
space... for all.

You've completely missed the point. You need to *identify* the ebuilds that
install some vim syntax first, I won't do it and I can't CC maintainers of
$unknown ebuild here either. Global or local won't solve anything at all, do
the legwork first.

didnt' miss the point. running command eix syntax pretty gives me a pretty nice
long list however there should be a faster way to notify everyone... instead of
writing a bug for each individual ebuild... also if that's a too big of a
list... for anyone to want to go through one by one maintainers could add the
ones they know off the top of there heads eventually people will notice the
flags and start filing bugs for ones missed.
