The ebuild seems to contain the option but theres no privacy tab in the common
perferences.

Works fine for me (USE="crypt"). If it doesn't help, move your ~/.sylpheed dir
to ~/.sylpheed.bak and check if tab now exists...

exactly what I was gonna say...make sure u have USE="crypt" and it should work
fine

wrong gpgme version exspected !

Hi,

Look into the attachment in Bug 14579 there is gpgme-0.3.10 required! Did you
emerge rsync? My local ebuild in portage requires gpgme-0.3.10, too. Or
re-emerge gpgme...

I changed the dep in the ebuild to use a higher version of gpgme, but if your
system was up to date it should have already been installed
