Well.... I tried reemerge gtk-doc... did not help (I am using unstable.. so I already had gtk-doc-1.0.. but ;~) so I extracted the contents of the atk-1.2.2.tar.bz2 file into my home directory and viewed the directories. I found that atk-1.2.2/doc/html/ had the index.sgml file that it kept bombing out because of not having... so I #emerge unmerge atk #emerge clean #cd /usr/portage/dev/libs/atk #ebuild atk-1.2.2 fetch #ebuild atk-1.2.2 unpack at this point I checked /var/tmp/portage/atk-1.2.2/work/atk-1.2.2/doc/html with ~/atk-1.2.2/doc/html... they matched up so next I #ebuild atk-1.2.2 compile No errors or warnings I again checked my source tree... and the only files left in doc/html/ were home.png left.png right.png up.png... all the html files were gone, and the index.sgml file was gone.... #ebuild atk-1.2.2 install Bombed out with the same error as orriginal So I copied the contents ~/atk-1.2.2/doc/html to /var/tmp/portage/atk-1.2.2/work/atk-1.2.2/doc/html (purly on a hunch) #ebuild atk-1.2.2 install Worked without error I also ran #ebuild atk-1.2.2 qmerge #ebuild atk-1.2.2 merge Not realy sure that they were requiered..... I know that I should not have had to do all that.. but doing that made it work. I hope that this is of some use (I never tried removing doc from my use statement.. that tip came a bit late... ;~> Thank... keep me posted
runing ./configure and make myself in the source tree I extracted separatly does not have the missing html files...and one other thing the home.png left.png right.png up.png never did exsit in the source tree I played w/ manualy..
Could you reemerge the deps of gtk-doc-1.0 ? I think those deps really are correct (best is to remove its deps and then reemerge gtk-doc).
Sorry... but I am unable to try anything for the next few days as my system got called into action at work after a simmularly configured system (hardware wise) decided to smoke its mother board... one minute photoshoping next minute smoke... oh well. I think the worst part about this is my virgin computer had never been molested by Gates and company...... so sad... I think I'm just going to use the new board instead... O well I'll post once I have an oportunity to try anything
waiting for response
Unfortunatly... my replacement system is taking longer than expected. Got the hardware day befor yesterday... but experienced some problems (AMD Athlon MP 1900+ toasted itself to oblivion)... so now waiting for a replacement to a replacement... Go figure... I hope to get back to you soon Thanx Chris
Well... the impossible happend. A freind made a great sacrifice (his second proc) so that I could get back to gentoo'n.. I am happy to say that reemerging the dependencys did help afterall. aparently my burnt up but still kinda sorta running processor was the source of the problem (assuming it mangled something). I surprises me to no end that a similarly speced machene at work lost it's board and I lost my proc all in the same week (not to mention my bigscreen losing 2 of the 3 contoller boards) I would say that it was bad power into the location but... 3 different places.. so I guess last week I just should have stayed away from technology ;~> Thankx for your patience, I am truly sorry for making you deal with MY problem Cheers Chris
no big deal, there was a real problem at the base here but it should be resolved now. we're here to make the Gentoo experience as smoomth as possible and we take ever bug as serious. Good luck with all the bad luck you had ;)
I had the same problem. sgmlfix didn't fix it but installing gtk-doc did.
same as #15270
