Description:   Opened: 2006-07-06 15:01 0000
I've had to raise a few bug reports because of this but I'm having MAJOR
problems with emerging xorg-7.1 which means that at this stage in emering, I
won't have a graphical desktop if I reboot!

It seems that emerging xorg-7.1 isn't pulling in any of the necessary
x11-libs/* and x11-proto/* which means that many packages just fail at the
'configure' stage. I've had a more serious error with ipodslave which was that
it couldn't find any X headers....might be solved with a slight ebuild update
but still, serious.

Sometimes I can emerge the missing package but other I can't workout where the
missing library comes from...this is just rediculous!

Can it be a problem with any of the tools which portage uses?

This is the latest problem I'm having:

Shrug... see the other bug. As long as X folks refuse to change all the || (
foo bar baz ) virtual/x11 ) deps, it will remain as it is until virtual/x11
dies.

I've read the other bug and it still doesn't solve the error message I posted
above...

------- Comment #3 From Jakub Moc (RETIRED) 2006-07-06 15:22:39 0000 -------
Please, stop bugspamming us. The other bug deals with what you've posted in the
summary and the first half of your bug description (dependencies missed by
portage). Ebuild failures are a separate bug, file one *after* you have
searched for duplicates and didn't find any.
