Same problem here too but compile if xinerama flag is ON (e.g. USE="xinerama"
emerge libsdl)

Exactly same problem here too... with up-to-date (~x86) (gcc 4.1.1, kernel
2.6.16-gentoo-r8).

I confirm : compile nice with xinerama flag.

It's on x86 too!

I filed a bug upstream: http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/show_bug.cgi?id=241

And attached a patch (which may or may not be correct, but at least it
compiles!): http://bugzilla.libsdl.org/attachment.cgi?id=134&action=view

Resetting Hardware and OS as this bug applies unconditionally (even on G/FBSD).

This patch fixes the compilation problems for me

It seems that some parts of the xinerama conditional compilation is not put
under #ifdef...#endif.
