Same problem here too but compile if xinerama flag is ON (e.g. USE="xinerama" emerge libsdl)

Thanks Ian for reporting upstream. Resetting Hardware and OS as this bug applies unconditionally (even on G/FBSD).
Created an attachment (id=87611) [details] This patch fixes the compilation problems for me It seems that some parts of the xinerama conditional compilation is not put under #ifdef...#endif.

Andoni, your patch fixed problem on my system (x86-P4, gcc 4.1.1), now it compiles just fine. (of course, xinerama use flag switched off).
patch worked here also. ~x86 with gcc version 3.4.6 (Gentoo 3.4.6-r1, ssp-3.4.5-1.0, pie-8.7.9)

Works correctly with USE=xinerama; didn't try the patch, though looks it should not cause any problems... SDL team probably just forgot #ifdef's in a few places ;)

Please, I think that the developers know that the patch works, but they don't want to modify the #ifdefs until upstream evaluates the proposed fix. How do you know that this patch doesn't break some programs that use sdl?
