Description Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-09 14:22:40 UTC
The main purpose here is to track bugs in packages that break with the split openal/freealut that worked with the older openal snapshots on Linux, and to fix them.
Comment 1 Carsten Lohrke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-17 04:50:43 UTC
What you're doing with the blocker in the ebuild is unnecessary and not o.k.. Please rename the openal-<datecode> ebuilds to openal-0_pre<datacode>, so the version numbering is correct.
Comment 2 Chris Gianelloni (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2006-05-17 07:19:08 UTC
Would you care to explain that, rather than simply saying that it is "not o.k."?

One thing I'm *defintely* not going to waste my time doing is renaming a bunch of ebuilds. I've been working on this for a solid two weeks, and the last thing I'm doing is adding even more useless workload to my already busy schedule just to accommodate a renaming of all the packages *and* a breaking of people's current stable systems.

No thanks.

Also, QA has *nothing* to do with this *tracker* bug. If you feel there is a QA problem, file a new bug and mark it as a blocker to this bug.
