Description:   Opened: 2006-05-09 04:31 0000
* Symptom:
          o Gnome Gentoo gui installer will not work at the last step (hands)
unless you have live network connection. Even if you do not need/use it. And
after Live CD boot, there is no live network connection. This is because
eth1395 is loaded as default eth0, before e100 and ipw2200.
    * Workaround:
          o connect notebook to LAN
          o reload e100
    * How to verify:
          o on the "networking" step in the installer wizard eth0 will show up
as e100
          o and it will also show checkbox "network is already configured"

Additionally, you don't need a live network connection, but the installer
*does* die (silently in the current version, unfortunately...already fixed in
CVS) if you select DHCP on the Pre-install configuration screen and it can't
contact a DHCP server. Either set a static IP or check "My network is already
setup and running".
