Description:   Opened: 2006-04-30 02:50 0000 
When I log out from gnome 2.14 and the logout/shutdown window appears it hangs.
After a few seconds he "Window not responding" window appears and I can
terminate the window resulting in a gnome reload.

Only way to logoff is to Ctrl-Alt-Backspace to console.

I have removed all the .gnome* .gconf* files for making sure there was nothing
left from 2.12 to result this. It was not.

what do you have in your gnome session? 
(Desktop -> Preferences -> Sessions -> Startup Programs )

does this happen if you just startx and then logout?
also, please attach ps afux output before you try and logout.

I can reproduce this with certain programs like grdesktop.

After a weekend system check of revdep-rebuild and updating with new use-flag
changes I no longer have this problem.

I will report back if I encounter the problem again
