Description:   Opened: 2006-02-18 20:47 0000
When I do an update I recieve the following error when emerging gtk+-2.8.12:

!!! ERROR: x11-libs/gtk+-2.8.12 failed.
Call stack:
  ebuild.sh, line 1894: Called dyn_unpack
  ebuild.sh, line 694: Called src_unpack
  gtk+-2.8.12.ebuild, line 94: Called eautoreconf
  autotools.eclass, line 68: Called eautomake
  autotools.eclass, line 149: Called autotools_run_tool 'unpack' 'automake'
'--add-missing'

!!! Failed Running automake !
!!! If you need support, post the topmost build error, and the call stack if
relevant.

The error appears to occur in automake so I have included the contents of
/var/tmp/portage/gtk+-2.8.12/tmp/automake in this as well:

***** automake *****

/usr/bin/autoconf-2.59: line 49: 8805 Segmentation fault expr a : '\(a\)'
>/dev/null 2>&1
/usr/bin/autom4te-2.59: unrecognized option `--trace='
Try `/usr/bin/autom4te-2.59 --help' for more information.
configure.in: no proper invocation of AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE was found.
configure.in: You should verify that configure.in invokes AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE,
configure.in: that aclocal.m4 is present in the top-level directory,
configure.in: and that aclocal.m4 was recently regenerated (using aclocal).
automake-1.7: no `Makefile.am' found or specified

Please use "New -> Gentoo Linux -> Component: Ebuilds" in future.
Infrastructure is not the correct addressee.
