Gajim doesn't check which version of gnome-python is installed. If it is < 2 then gajim fails. If there is no gnome-python installed or gnome-python is > 2 then gajim works fine. So I think this check is good to be in the ebuild
Flipping as this is a problem with gajim not gnome-python. Reassigning to net-im.
Gajim doesn't need gnome-python. It only uses it when it is available. For example it gets from gconf current user's settings about system fonts. The problem here is that when installed version of gnome-python is < 2 it cannot be imported and I think it is event not a problem with gajim.
Fixed in 0.10.1
