Description:   Opened: 2005-11-20 06:35 0000
FlightGear-0.9.9 was released November 17, together with SimGear-0.3.9;
it will probably need a new snapshot of OpenAL, plib-1.8.4 is still okay

Reproducible: Always

Very nice. Works here, thanks for the work! I hope this makes it into portage.

------- Comment #4 From Uwe Schuerkamp 2005-11-25 04:54:48 0000 -------
Hmm, I cannot seem to find a simgear build for 0.3.9, has it become part of
regular portage yet?

------- Comment #5 From FieldySnuts 2005-11-25 07:17:48 0000 -------
Uwe,

Simply copy the one for 3.9.8 to your overlay as 3.9.9 and it'll work out fine.

------- Comment #6 From Benno Schulenberg 2005-11-25 14:14:59 0000 -------
When flightgear is compiled with a hardened gcc, this is the result:

$ fgfs
opening file: /usr/share/games/FlightGear/Navaids/carrier_nav.dat
/usr/share/games/FlightGear/Navaids/TACAN_freq.dat
RenderTexture Error: Couldn't find a suitable pixel format.
Initialising callsign using 'Aircraft/c172p/Models/c172p.xml'
fgfs: stack smashing attack in function virtual void FGJSBsim::update(double)()
Aborted

Anyone else seeing this?

With a vanilla gcc, fgfs flies okay, so far.

(BTW, it appears to work fine with the existing openal-20050504-r1.)

------- Comment #7 From Uwe Schuerkamp 2005-11-27 05:43:44 0000 -------
Did as you suggested (copying over the simgear ebuild to the local overlay),
and
apparently everything works fine. I'd vote for adding the 0.9.9 ebuild to the
~x86 repository.

cheers & thanks again for your help, uwe

------- Comment #8 From folken 2005-12-01 11:40:23 0000 -------
simgear should be version bumped before this. flightgear's dependancy should be
upgraded to new version of simgear.

------- Comment #9 From Seemant Kulleen (RETIRED) 2005-12-06 10:59:51 0000 -------
benno, and whoever else is interested -- please file simgear/flightgear bugs
directly to me, instead of letting them be wrangled. Invariably, they'll wind
up first at bug-wranglers (which I don't even check any more because jakub does
all that heavy lifting) then at games, which is overloaded as it is.

thanks!
