searched the forums but nothing there helped checking for SDL - version >= 1.1.3... no *** Could not run SDL test program, checking why... *** The test program failed to compile or link. This is most likely a duplicate of bug 10383 ln -s /usr/lib/libvga.so.1.4.3 /usr/lib/libvga.so.1 should fix the problem.
I already have that link, so it's probably not a dup. No further info, BTW :(
please post the file 'config.log' in the build directory
Created an attachment (id=6014) [details] config.log for libmovtar as requested
done.
sorted - had to upgrade svgalib to testing version - dunno why but it worked!
could you try re-emerging svgalib ? also, is this a system that upgraded from glibc-2.2.x to glibc-2.3.x ? configure:4147: i686-pc-linux-gnu-gcc -o conftest -march=athlon-xp -O3 -pipe -I/usr/include/SDL -D_REENTRANT conftest.c -L/usr/lib -Wl,-rpath,/usr/lib -lSDL -lpthread >&5 /usr/lib/libvga.so.1: undefined reference to `__ctype_b_loc@GLIBC_2.3' /usr/lib/libvga.so.1: undefined reference to `__ctype_tolower_loc@GLIBC_2.3'
No - Live UT CD install. BTW, I'm not sure what you mean, I emerged svgalib to the testing version and it worked. Do you want me to downgrade, or remerge the existing version. And what result do you expect me to see?
completely missed you comment #6 :) basically svgalib-1.9.16 worked just fine for you ?
In the sense that it allowed me to emerge libmovtar, yes it was that simple. I still haven't managed to get mjpegtools installed yet, but that's for another bug report ;)
ok, ill look into getting that guy unmasked
once Bug 11092 is cleared up we will be able to unmask latest svgalib
