Description BlaisorBlade 2005-10-13 17:47:29 UTC
Ndiswrapper original makefiles don't handle correctly KBUILD_OUTPUT, so it
doesn't compile at all. It's for ndiswrapper-1.2.

I wrote a patch for this, and I'm attaching it.

Reproducible: Always

Handle KBUILD_OUTPUT in ndiswrapper Makefile

This patch adds a patch file in files/, to be applied against the Ndiswrapper
Makefile, and then adds a line in the ebuild to apply the patch.

The digest is also altered in the patch (sorry for the noise).

Please get this patch accepted upstream, and it will automatically appear in
Gentoo Portage once a new version of ndiswrapper is released.
Comment 3 BlaisorBlade 2005-10-26 09:02:34 UTC
Sorry, but which is the reason not to include it in ndiswrapper-1.2?
ndiswrapper-1.4 has been masked for now, and this shows that it's not
reasonable to force people to upgrade to have the fix.

I will also merge the patch upstream, but meanwhile it should IMHO be merged in
the ndiswrapper ebuild. Btw, applying the patch works and fixes a bug, so why
not apply it?

Why was ndiswrapper-1.4 not hard masked several days ago ..and now it is. Is it
because of this bug? I can't find any mention of it in the changelog.

nm description is in packages.mask
Comment 6 Petteri Räty (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2005-12-28 06:24:43 UTC
I just added ndiswrapper-1.7 to the tree. Is this still a problem with that version?
Comment 7 Henrik Brix Andersen 2006-01-02 06:45:33 UTC
Marking as NEEDINFO.
