The config option --enable-mfd-rewrites turns on some 64bit counters and
probably some other good things. A must if you want to track interface data
that's going well above 100mbit ;-)

Yup, I agree here. I'm testing it on an amd64 box now to see if it actually
fixes the problem with those archs.
