dev-lang/lua-5.0.2 (/etc/magic)

Bug 101639 relates to /etc/magic being ignored.  The Gentoo installation of
sys-apps/file uses a compiled version of /usr/share/misc/file/magic, ignoring
/etc/magic entirely.  The file command can't handle multiple magic files.

lua should not be installing /etc/magic
