is the download address for the new version.

and please have a look at the options while building, a -O comes after the
options gentoo's configutation sets and overrides previous -O<n> values.

Why isn't it in the tree yet? I've already built dar using my own version of 1.2.1 ebuild, and it works just nice on my production server.

Put dar in portage!  I just made a 2.0.0 ebuild at the same time as Matsuu
(but his is better).
