version bump
Comment 4 Thomas Eckert 2005-07-30 00:54:38 UTC
a new verion v0.1.8-4 is out -- the attached ebuild for for "-3" is tested and
working, a simple rename to "_p4" should work.
the attached ebuild differs from 0.1.6-r2 as
follows:
  - uses "_pX"-suffix instead of "-rX"
  - install ace- and rar-wrappers only if use-flags are set

xarchive-0.2.6-r3

This is my first ebuild. This is my first gentoo bugzilla appearance. I have
modified the 0.1.8_p3 ebuild to install the last version of XArchive. I have
installed it in my system and works great. I dont know others, but i upload it
if you want to try. One last thing, sorry for my english.

Updated ebuild, correct dependencies

Now correctly pulls in dependencies and removes unneeded stuff.
.desktop file also gets created correctly.

Glad I found this!
Still the only lightweight archiver GUI (using e17 here) that's able to do drag and drop into archives - a feature I would think is basic but I couldn't find it in xarchiver (with an r at the end), peazip, q7z, file-roller. The only two left are squeeze (too many dependencies from xfce) and ark (not THAT lightweight as it pulls in libkonq) as far as I know,

Devs: What has to be done to get this into portage? I know it's old but again, it's the only working solution for the criteria above. Xarchive_r_ is often mentioned as an equal successor, but it is not - as I mentioned - and is unmaintained as well. (And crashing all of the time on my box)

Corrected version; rar+rpm handling working, mime-database updated

Found some bugs and fixed them.
rar and rpm now get correct mime-type associations as well.
For all of them to work as well, the mime-db needs to be updated.

Pretty much does everything an archiver needs to do now and does so VERY well..
