The torsmo project is dead. Meet Conky, a fork of the torsmo project. All the
latest patches are applied, and more!

Reproducible: Always

This would be really cool to get into portage, as torsmo is dead.
added - I modified your ebuild a bit.
Now make some notes on sf:torsmo saying long live conky!

mpd USE flag
first and foremost, this nifty appie rocks.
i had lots of free time recently and i noticed that MPD support was implicitly
enabled in the configure options.. anyway, just added a use flag for it.
nothing fancy. btw, mpd-0.11.5 has a compile time error about an undefined
reference. i think i`ll open a new bug report for that but in the meantime, i
was able to find a work around for it by including --enable-mpd-id3tag in mpd's
configure opts.
cheers,
stef

You should probably take a look at the ebuild in bug 98078
The mpd use flag was removed by a gentoo developer when it was added to portage,
so I assume there is a reason for it not being there...
(In reply to comment #4)
well, i don't know why mpd support was removed but there is a subtle difference
in the two ebuilds. mpd is included in both as a use flag but the one in bug
98078 doesnt include media-sound/mpd as a dep in case the mpd use flag is set.
I removed the mpd use flag cause there wasn't a dependency in bug 98078.
I'll re-add it sometime since there is a dependency.
MPD is not a dependancy for Conky with the MPD stuff enabled. Since MPD is
network transparent, there is no reason for the client and server to run on the
same machine. So, like I said, MPD is definitely not a dependancy for Conky,
which is why I never added it. I don't see any reason why MPD should be added
as a dependancy for Conky, with or without the MPD use flag.
thanks brendan - you did good.
i see i see. anyway, thanks guys. i really needed the explanation. :) looking
forward to conky 1.2
