Description Josh England 2005-06-20 00:11:39 UTC
I would like to add an ebuild for inclusion with Gentoo. I think fits well into
the sys-cluster directory in portage. The package is called oneSIS. More
information can be found at http://onesis.org

Along the lines of SystemImager and Kickstart, oneSIS is a a system for
deploying and managing a system image for linux machines. However, it has the
added ability of being able to manage diskless nodes. It allows you to use an
installed Gentoo image as a master image for any number of diskless machines.
The image can be cloned to disk and exported to more diskless nodes to acheive
scale to thousands of nodes while maintaining a single point of control.

oneSIS is a role-based system that lets you configure functional groups of nodes
or individual nodes to behave differently in any way. It makes building simple
clusters easy, and even complex multi-role environments are manageable. It can
simplify management of diskless environments of any size and for any purpose.

I've tested this ebuild locally and it works pretty well.
