This ccid library is used to access standard PC/SC readers connected to a
computer.

This works with pcsc-lite that already has a package.

I'm running into this same issue.  I am currently attempting to get a CCID
reader to work under Gentoo and also require this package.

Michael, please look at the attachment, it has an ebuild that you can use.
