Hi,
please find attached an update to the ivtv 0.2.0_rc3 ebuild.
In essence, I've changed the following:
- fixed download URLs: the previous ebuild wouldn't download any src anymore
- adapted ebuild to properly work with KOUTPUT-type systems
- updated home page
Please test this thoroughly; I can't test on a non-KOUTPUT system. Also, please test this if you have a kernel with FB enabled - mine isn't.
This is my first ebuild. It is build upon an ebuild for the unstable ivtv 0.3.0 branch I've found on the web.
Andreas
ah, yes: this downloads the latest "0.2.0_rc3j" release.
This ebuild also contains a fix for #84585 and #90071 .
Personally, I prefer patches against the current ebuilds in portage.
In any case, I should have a new ivtv ebuild in portage tonight.
If it doesn't have everything from your ebuild, reopen, and tell me what it's
missing. Preferably with a patch.
Your ebuild works perfectly for me. Thanks.
I've added a patch against it with some optional changes:
- I've changed the HOME PAGE to ivtv.writeme.ch, a Wiki which answers a lot
of questions regarding old ivtv drivers and new. This might reduce the number
of bugs being filed against the ivtv package, should it become even more
popular (mythtv is a force to reckon with :-) ) As an alternative, the current
home page of the releases is http://www.ivtv.tv
- I've added a 2nd URL for the source code, one which would get current when
Chris Kennedy creates a new release. I guess it is used once the code isn't
found in the first location?
- I've included more einfos at the end, which explain more accurately what has
to be done in order to get the modules up and running. I don't know how much
we want to explain here, or whether we rather leave things as they are and
eventually patch the files in the ebuild.
I leave it up to you how much you'd like to include of this. For me, the ebuild already is perfectly fine the way it is now.
Andreas
added to the ebuild, not bumping
