Matt,

this is one I know people have been asking for a lot. well, this and bug #903
Comment 3 Troy Dack 2002-04-17 09:08:43 UTC
Please see bug #1871 for a nicer way of including i2c & lm_sensors support.
Comment 4 Troy Dack 2002-04-20 03:34:32 UTC
The latest i2c is 2.6.3, updating the ebuild is simply a matter of changing
version #s.
Comment 5 Bruce A. Locke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-04-27 19:18:09 UTC
gentoo kernels have i2c... any reason why we need this ebuild?
Comment 6 Troy Dack 2002-04-28 02:18:38 UTC
I don't know if they have all the chipsets that are included in the i2c package.

I don't know if lm_sensors includes all the chipsets when built without the i2c
sources.

If the lm_sensors packages when built against a gentoo kernel includes all the
chipsets then don't worry about his ebuild :)
Comment 7 Bruce A. Locke (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2002-05-03 23:42:59 UTC
I'd feel pretty safe in assuming any i2c drivers not already in the kernel and not
in the -ac kernel series are not considered ready by either -ac maintainer or
the driver maintainer.

Thank you anyways for submitting the ebuild :)
