The attached patch applied over current ebuild cleans it up a bit (seems like old ebuild was structured when there wasn't use_with and use_enable utilities), and fixes the -gpm flag which can actually disable gpm stuff from being built (always leaving there the constrain that fbcon implies gpm).

thanks FlameEyes, most fixes are in pre15 (except for forced gpm), and all of them in pre17.  vanquirius will be the new maintainer, so please do help him out now :)
