On two different computers I have seen this: With artsplugin-xine-3.4.0 and xine-lib-1_rc8 installed, arts crashes when playing oggs (like many of the KDE notifications) With artplugin-xine not installed or with artsplugin-xine-3.4.0 and xine-lib-1.0 installed, the crashes disappear. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Emerge artsplugin-xine-3.4.0 with xine-lib-1_rc8. 2. Try to play an ogg through arts, watch it crash. 3. Upgrade xine-lib to 1.0, successfully play oggs through arts.
Sounds reasonable and works fine here as well, fixed.
