There's a bug in gstreamer which causes skips in muine (and probably all apps
using playbin) after the first 3 seconds of any MP3s.

See the URL for more details. I'm about to attach a patch as generated by tseng
for ubuntu from gstreamer CVS which fixes the issue. The Ubunut bug is at
https://bugzilla.ubuntu.com/show_bug.cgi?id=7359

With the patch applied, i no longer get any skips.
