Probablly this is fixed in cvs. (I'm not 100% sure
because it doesn't happen to me)
Please wait for another hour and try again.
Hm, this only happens with tetex-3.0-r1 (not with tetex-3.0), and AFAIK -r1
doesn't include any changes from the teTeX CVS. Let's see.
Are you saying that -r2 will be in Portage in about an hour?
No. I didn't increment its revision because it only fixes
build time error. The updated tetex-3.0-r1.ebuild has
# Copyright 1999-2005 Gentoo Foundation
# Distributed under the terms of the GNU General Public License v2
# $Header: /var/cvsroot/gentoo-x86/app-text/tetex/tetex-3.0-r1.ebuild,v 1.2 2005
/02/12 15:24:20 usata Exp $
in its header (v1.2). I guess you have v1.1 in /usr/portage,
and v1.2 will be available within an hour. I think if you
remerge tetex-3.0, it will also show the same error.
(the sandbox violation doesn't occur with fresh install,
but may occur with upgrade or reinstall)
Obviously, you spoke about the Portage CVS and not about the teTeX CVS :-) The
problem has disappeared now. Thank you for your quick reaction!
BTW: If you like, please mail me what "addpredict" does :-)
I don't know, but I get the following output (other access-violations): If they
are related, then this bug should IMHO become reopened.
I did an emerge sync a few minutes ago to get the updated ebuild.

HTH,
Benjamin.
Benjamin: Is it fresh install or upgrade? If it is upgrade,
which version do you have, and what does
kpsewhich --expand-var='$TEXMFMAIN'
and
kpsewhich --format='web2c files' texmf.cnf
say?
I had previosly installed one of the beta-versions, but after getting this
error the first time, i unmerged the beta-version.
kpsewhich --expand-var='$TEXMFMAIN' yields in "command not found". Where can I
find this program or is this program contained in tetex (which I now don't have
installed).
Benjamin.
Benjamin: could you remove everything in /usr/share/texmf,
/var/lib/texmf, /usr/local/share/texmf (and /etc/texmf)?
If something is left from previous installation tetex picks it up
and fail if it is not configured correctly.
Okay, I did, what you have suggested. Those diretories did exist (exception:
/usr/local/share/texmf didn't exist). I rm -R'ed them. Let's see, what emerge
says this time.
Thanks,
Benjamin.
Okay, emerge ran through and I now have a completely fresh installes tetex-3.0.
Thanks for helping.
Benjamin.
Thanks for the tests. Closing.
