Hi !
I'm proud to announce you the metalog project has re-born (I'm part of the fresh new dev team).
We just provided a release candidate version of the project that corrects some particular bugs.
In the future, we plan to add extra features such as network logging or log compression. About ten people are now interested in contributing.
It would be _very_ helpful for us if that ebuild could pass to the stable state pretty soon (in order to gain testers).

base-system, I use metalog on all my boxen and would love to maintain it.  If
so,  reassign this to me.

i use it myself too so i wouldnt mind keeping it in base-system and having you
help out

In cvs.  vapier, I've added a metadata.xml with herd base-system and you and I
as maintainers.
