Emerging Fontforge automatically pulls in autotrace and its dependencies (including gtk-1.2). FF uses this program only to convert bitmaps to scaled fonts, so I think there should be an USE-flag to control this dep. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce:
And, some Gentoo users prefer potrace, not autotrace. FontForge allows to use any of them.
