kismet-2004.10.1 wants to downgrade ethereal
porkoo ~ # emerge kismet -va
These are the packages that I would merge, in order:
Calculating dependencies ...done!
[ebuild UD] net-analyzer/ethereal-0.10.6 [0.10.7] +adns -debug +gtk +gtk2 +ipv6 +snmp +ssl 0 kB
[ebuild R ] net-wireless/kismet-2004.10.1 +ethereal +gps 0 kB
Total size of downloads: 0 kB
Yes, this is a known problem.
It has to do with portage not liking dynamic SRC_URIs.
We need to come up with a solution to this...
brix, kismet can't depend on a specific version of ethereal, as it is not
slotted.
Any suggestion to how we tackle this problem?
net-wireless/kismet now depends on >=net-analyzer/ethereal-${ETHEREAL_VERSION}
instead of =net-analyzer/ethereal-${ETHEREAL_VERSION}.
Closing as FIXED InCVS.
